Be it in air, on land, at sea or in the water, Grand Cayman abounds with activities that are sure to keep you going from day 'til night.
Sky
The beauty of the whole island can be viewed not only when you're on foot but also from the air. In fact the marvelous scenery is better viewed when you're up there, in a parasail or helicopter. Cayman Islands Helicopters offers short and long tours and will even fly you over to the sister islands if you want to see the whole country.
Land
If your scuba diving is keeping you fully engaged, then a simple excursion to a quiet shady spot such as Smith's Cove may be all you need to round out your trip. There are numerous other activities to choose from if your trip includes plenty of time to explore on foot, or by bicycle or car. The native Mastic Trail is a fascinating hike through old growth indigenous forest. And of course a drive around our scenic coastlines, stopping here and there to investigate historic markers and sample local food spots, is a charming way to spend the day.
An ideal tranquil spot, the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, is located at the center of the island, 30 minutes from George Town. You could spend all day wandering the grounds, picnicing in the shade, viewing the displays and learning about native tropical flora.
There are also activities aimed at kids and others ideal for families. The Skate Park is the largest of its kind - 62,200 square feetof pure adolescent fun. Parents and kids can also bond at Pampered Ponies, a horse-riding outfit that offers rides along the beach where you can swim with the horse. Honey Suckle Trail Rides offers different rides to suit their customers, like guided trail rides, sunset rides, midnight rides and picnics.
Water
And, of course, while visiting an island nation, all visitors to Grand Cayman should take advantage of the different beach and underwater experiences available on our three beautiful islands. Kayaking is one of the newest activities available, and different companies are offering this eco-friendly way of sight-seeing.
Cayman Kayaks offers tours by day and night. Witness nature's glory in broad daylight or find a secluded place to watch a romantic sunset. At night, the water gives an ethereal glow as you paddle because of bioluminescent sea creatures. These kayak tours, aside from being eco-friendly, also reach places that are not reachable by road, thus giving you a view of the hidden side of Grand Cayman.
Snorkeling and scuba diving are also wildly popular and keeps visitors coming back again and again. Water sports, deep sea fishing and sailing charters are also popular with tourists. Then, of course, there is lazing on the beach - grab an umbrella, towel, beach chair and your sunglasses for a relaxing day staring at some of the most beautiful water on earth.
For a day full of fun and excitement, and more, Grand Cayman Island is definitely the place to be.
