Fly to the Cayman Islands via Cayman Airways

Like any other Caribbean islands, Grand Cayman is an enthralling blend of the indigenous and the modern, where urban sophistication lies along with hammocks, white sand beaches and stingrays. You may travel the world and come back to the Cayman Islands only to realize that no other place in the planet can accomplish this balance with such ease. You can always read books about the Cayman Islands, but you cannot rely on your books alone if you want to experience it. The first thing you should do is to book a flight to Grand Cayman.

Grand Cayman’s Owen Roberts International Airport is located at the eastern part of Georgetown. In September 2004, Hurricane Ivan caused severe damage to the airport, which is a structure that contributes to the growing economy and tourism industry of the country. Without the airport, tourists can't reach the Cayman Islands. Not to worry though, because the Cayman Islands Government had renovated and expanded the airport to make sure that the flights you are planning to book will never go to waste.

Arrival at the Owen Roberts International Airport

It's easy when you get to Owen Roberts International Airport because you can just take a taxi or rent a car to your resort. If you are staying at any of the resorts or hotels along Seven Mile Beach, your taxi fare will be around $15. While rates are posted on the cab, you should still verify the fare with your driver before you accept the ride. If you feel that it is more convenient to rent a car, you can rent one from any of the car rental companies at the airport. If you are driving, you need to have a temporary local driver’s license. The fee for this type of license is below $8 and can be obtained from the rental company.
