Why Cayman Brac? Cayman Brac is the middle island among the three Cayman Islands. It is popular among tourists because of the abundant tropical foliage and numerous unique species of animals that inhabits the island. Cayman Brac is the home of fruit bats and wild green parrots. It also boasts of 170 caves that adventurers would love to visit and explore. Cayman Brac also shares the distinction of being a popular diving and scuba site through the infamous Wilderness Wall and Peter’s Cave.
With all the tourist attractions in Cayman Brac, it is inevitable that tourists and foreigners would pour into the island all year round. An important element of a good vacation is the accommodation. Cayman Brac offers a wide array of hotels and resorts for tourists to choose from. Each hotel and resort likewise offers different packages, each one suitable to the preferences of each tourist.
Hotels. Tourists who come on the Cayman Brac on their own usually prefer hotel accommodations. Hotels at the Cayman Brac are usually located on beachfronts or near the popular tourist spots. Their rates vary according to the location of the hotel, the size of the room, and on whether it is peak season like Christmas or holiday or not. They are inclusive of value-added services and amenities. Normally, hotel accommodation packages are inclusive of meals but meal plans vary per hotel. The two most common meal plans in Cayman Brac are the Modified American Plan (MAP) and the Full American Plan (FAP). The main difference between the two is that the MAP offers only two meals namely breakfast and dinner. The FAP offers all daily meals.
Resorts. Resorts offer basically the same services as hotels but they have bigger room spaces. The advantage of resort accommodations is that they usually offer packages that include tours and scuba diving. Some resorts also offer certificate programs for scuba diving. These packages actually allow people to save some cash since each package is cheaper as compared to availing the services individually. Resorts in Cayman Brac offer lodgings similar to the styles of condominiums. Each condominium unit has one to four bedrooms. It gives people the choice of whether they would like to dine in the resort or to eat out in another restaurant.
Best time to make accommodations. Cayman Brac is usually not as crowded as the Grand Cayman. As such, people are likely to find more available lodgings and hotel or resort accommodations in this area. However, tourists and non-residents still have to book their hotel and resort accommodations in advance in order to ensure that they can get the package and location that they want. This is especially true during peak seasons or holidays. Hotels may accept accommodations on daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Resorts, on the other hand, may require their clients to stay for longer time periods of one or two weeks especially during the holiday season.
